PROTECT THE AMAZON RAINFOREST AND OUR CLIMATE FUTURE

GIVE TO THE FRONTLINES GUARDIAN FUND

100% of your donation goes to frontline Indigenous forest defenders

Indigenous peoples are protecting 80% of Earth’s biodiversity

and half of all standing forest left in the Amazon. And they are doing so largely on their own.

Only 2% of global philanthropy goes to protecting our climate,

and of that, only a tiny fraction makes it to Indigenous communities on the frontlines.

These statistics reveal an unfortunate truth: philanthropy is not reaching those best positioned to protect the rainforest our entire planet depends on. We need to shake things up!

For more than a decade, Amazon Frontlines has been working on the frontlines of the Upper Amazon within a collective of Indigenous organizations, communities and leaders. Through an approach based on listening, learning and working side-by-side in Indigenous territories, we’ve built the relationships and the trust needed to identify, finance and accompany the guardians defending these forests against the chainsaws, bulldozers and oil rigs and building a solutions-oriented vision for the future of this rainforest.

Alongside our Indigenous partners, we have collectively launched the Frontlines Guardian Fund to help tip the scale. 100% of all donations will go directly to Indigenous territorial organizations, community initiatives, frontline leaders & at-risk defenders leading the battle to protect our planet.

What your gift will supercharge

Place-Anchored Partnerships

Direct resourcing for Indigenous governance and institution building from the territories, not the cities. These funds support core Indigenous partner organizations governing vast rainforest territories and confronting threats every day.

Movement Action Grants

Strategic grants to Indigenous organizations, civil society groups, territorial assemblies for grassroots organizing, film festivals, disaster response, and more, critical to a thriving and resilient ecosystem in which we work.

Protecting and Strengthening Indigenous Defenders

Rapid-response funding for defenders at risk from threats and criminalization in the most dangerous region in the world for environmental defenders & leadership grants to help local leaders attend international gatherings, get advanced degrees and learn new skills.

Recurring giving can transform this movement. Donate monthly to keep the Guardian Fund flowing throughout the year and become part of a powerful community invested in Indigenous peoples and the future of our planet.
