Jorge Acero
Jorge arrived in the Ecuadorian Amazon at the beginning of 2006 to coordinate the Sucumbíos Human Rights Office, and since then he's been working in the defense of human rights, communities, and peoples on issues such as border violence, environmental contamination, indigenous rights, and violence against women. Always supporting the people and communities with the goals of empowerment, social and community organization as a way of protection and enforceability of rights. Working with Amazon Frontlines is a unique opportunity to follow the processes of ancestral peoples more closely, to learn from their way of life and how they see the world, upholding respect for them.
